The BOERBOEL BREED COUNCIL
3 May 2012
Following meetings of
representatives of the Boerboel Breed Council with the Registrar of Animal
Improvement, the Registrar resolved to suspend the provisional registration of
the SABT in terms of the Animal Improvement Act with immediate effect.
The Registrar called a meeting of
all parties (KUSA, BI, EBBASA and SABT) during the first or second week of June
2012 “to amicably resolve this matter”.
The Boerboel Breed Council (currently
consisting of KUSA, BI and EBBASA) approached the Registrar of Animal
Improvement following a meeting of member bodies in Cape Town. The Registrar is
specifically concerned about consultation, democracy and the interests of the
Breed, and will chair the meeting scheduled for June 2012.
Breeders and owners are therefore requested to ignore further
speculation or statements regarding this matter until the Registrar have made a
final ruling regarding the way forward.
A formal communication will thereafter be sent out to all interested parties.
